2014-2015 Season: Last season’s officers continued. The last “under the tent” Supervisor’s concert with Ralph & Sandy Zecchino took place in July. A well attended retirement part was held for them in August. Also in August, GPAS co-sponsored a performance of “High School Musical” by school students. Vocal Director was Karl-Erik Jansson, a Greece Central music teacher. Karl-Erik joined the GPAS Board in Sept. The Choral Society began the season with a new Director, Rollo Fisher, and accompanist, Chiao-Wen Cheng. Also, the Concert Band began with a new Director, B.J. Comer. In Oct., Mike Szatkowski submitted his resignation from all his positions, including Vice-President. That office remained unfilled for the rest of the season. The Concert Band played at the Greece Mall for the beginning of the Oct. Race on the Ridge, for which GPAS was paid $1,225. Also in Oct., Amy Peritsky joined the Board to help search for potential grants. Flower City Accounting was engaged to prepare GPAS tax returns. The Choral Society and Concert Band performed at a Veteran’s Day concert in Nov. Gayle Pyke joined the Board in Dec. The Treasurer reported a need to reevaluate our insurance coverage. The Greece Chamber Foundation accepts grants for operating expenses, and GPAS has submitted an application. GPAS is adopting the Karl-Erik Jansson student performances as the GPAS sponsored “Summer Theatre”. Next summer’s musical will be “Shrek 2”. The ladies quartet “Fusion” joined the Choral Society at their May concert. The Choral Society, or smaller Society groups, intends to perform at other venues, such as the Historical Society Strawberry Festival. At the June Annual and Board meeting, President Paula Kosiorek announced that she will be stepping down after the 2015-2016 season. No grants were received during the year. Fund raisers were: Gift Wrap net, $8,321; Pop Concert, $1,953; 19th annual Garden Tour, $8,012. Funds at year end were $18,667, an increase of $235 from the previous year.
