2012-13 Season: Since Chapter XV completed the History through 2012, here is the annual review of the most recent completed fiscal year, ending June 30. Following the death of VP Jan Wills, Mike Szatkowski was elected VP. Other officers continued. The Summer Theatre presented “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” at the Athena Forum Room. Financially, it lost $2,330. The Jazz Band performed at the Art Gallery Clothesline Festival. The Concert Band , Jazz Band & Choral Society performed at a Veteran’s Day concert at Athena Performing Arts Center (APAC). The Community Orchestra was featured at the Italian-American Sports Club Concert in Dec. The annual Christmas concert included the St. Charles Church Sanctuary Choir. An intern has been working on the GPAS web site. The Choral Society web site tab was completed. Summer Theatre Director Szatkowski had proposed “Rent” as the next presentation, but another group is doing it, so “Forever Plaid” has been substituted. The annual Pops Concert happened in early March, clearing $1,320. The May Festival of Sacred Music featured the Choral Society, the Irondequoit Choral, & the Greece United Methodist & St. Charles Church choirs. Following an audit, an additional payment of $7,484 was made due to a 3-year underpayment of conductor salaries. The Young Artist competition was held in APAC, with no entrance fee but $2 for attending. After completion, several concerns were expressed, including that APAC was too large a venue. Symphony concerts were held in November, March & April, besides the Christmas & Pops concerts. The Jazz Band had performances at Ontario Beach in April & Aquinas Institute in May. The 17th annual Garden Tour in June featured 6 gardens and netted $10,673. Funds raised at the Gift Wrap Booth netted $9,100. Grants received were $4,500 from the Town of Greece. Ending cash was $23,884, depreciable assets: $975, total $24,859, a decrease of $7,838 from the previous year…
